Hello Post 240 Family! February sure was a busy month. The building fund raffle was a success as the Post made $2,345.00 for the building fund. I want to thank everyone who purchased a ticket for their contributions. Also, I would like to thank the SAL and Auxiliary for their prize donations. The Department Commander had great things to say about our post from his visit, which reflects on our outstanding membership. The Superbowl Party was a great time and I personally enjoyed watching the game with our membership. On the membership front, we are currently at approximately 92% of our 2022 goal of 974 members. If you know someone who needs to renew or if you need to renew, please come see myself, 1st Vice, or our Finance Officer and we can get you your new card on the spot. If we are unavailable, you can renew with the duty bartender and our 1st Vice will get your card to you either via mail or he can leave it at the bar for you to pick up. Please continue to recruit new members to our American Legion Post 240 family! Remember, if you recruit a new Legionnaire and they are voted in, you will receive a free drink slip!
On March 8, 2022, nominations for next year’s Post Officers will begin at the general membership meeting. The meeting starts at 1830. If you would like to nominate someone or be nominated yourself, show up to the meeting. March 15 is the American Legion’s 103rd birthday!
The Auxiliary will be providing a cake in the lounge and I would like to invite everyone to come to the post for the celebration and enjoy some fellowship. Deadline for Boys State registration is March 15. If you know a young man who is a junior in high school that would like to attend, send him my way ASAP! We still have five spots available. March 26 will be our next blood drive. For the last blood drive we only had three donations. While I do appreciate the other two who donated, we can and have done much better. I would like to see us get 30 donations this time around.
